A Mechanic is a person who fixes things (generally machinery) or works to keeps things operating properly.

Many mechanics are specialised in a particular field such as automotive mechanics, boiler mechanics, air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics and aircraft mechanics.

In poker, the term mechanic refers to a person who uses sleight of hand to cheat.
