Medical herbalism is a term that is used to the practice of using plants as medicinal remedies. It is the oldest system of medicine in the world.

In the United Kingdom, the training of medical herbalists is undertaken in private colleges. Recently, Bachelor of Science degrees in herbal medicine are offered at Universities such as Middlesex University , University of Central Lancashire, and the University of Westminster.
