Medjugorje is a mountain village in the Herzegovina municipality of Čitluk, today part of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It has become famous because of a series of reported sightings of the Virgin Mary, beginning in 1981. The site has not been approved by the Roman Catholic Church.
