Mehmet Erte is a contemporary Turkish poet. (Izmir, 1978- ) A graduate of Physics, his first poem titled "Yıldırımları Beklemek" was published in Varlık magazine in 1999. Ertes works of poetry, articles, translations and interviews were published in magazines like Varlık, Kitap-lık, E, Yasakmeyve and Akşam-lık. In 2003 Erte got the Yaşar Nabi Nayır Poetry Awards, and published his first book of poetry titled "Suyu Bulandıran Şey"
