"Mein Teil" is a single by the German industrial band Rammstein from the album Reise Reise.

"Mein Teil" is the first song released from Rammstein's fourth full-length studio album, Reise Reise. The translation of "Mein Teil" is literally "My Part", meaning "penis." A prominent phrase in the song is "Denn du bist was du isst" ("Because you are what you eat"), and the story is indeed based on cannibalism.
The song is inspired by the infamous case of Armin Meiwes and Bernd Jürgen Brandes. In March 2001, in Rotenburg, Hessen, Germany, the two men in their 40s met each other, cut off Brandes' penis and ate it. Afterwards, Meiwes killed Brandes--apparently with his consent--and ate his remains. As a result, Meiwes was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in jail for manslaughter.
Live Performance
This song is one of the most spectacular live performances of the 'Reise, Reise Tour'.
From the central backstage access, Till appears wearing a cook costume. He holds a microphone with a large butcher's knife attached to the end and he pulls out a giant covered pot with a portable keyboard attached to one side. Once placed on stage, we can see Flake in a weird looking black costume with curious silver cylindrical widgets covering all his body eventually appearing from inside the pot and playing the small keyboard. After the second chorus, during the bridge, Till takes a flamethrower and shoots the bottom of the pot while Flake is hidden inside, making it a very impressive scene. After the bridge, Flake escapes from the pot and starts running as if on fire while the silver widgets spark. Till then pursues him while wielding the knife. Rammstein makes a grotesque and sadistic staging of the real story behind this song.
In more recent versions of this song Flake also appears covered in Fake blood.
Music Video
The music video shows various impressive scenes, including Till eating and copulating with an angel, Flake performing ballet, Richard wrestling his twin, the whole band fighting in a mudpit, and five of them led through city streets on a leash by "Frau" Schneider, who is dressed as a woman.
