Mers-el-Kebir - Definition and Overview

Mers-el-Kebir is a town in northwestern Algeria, located by the Mediterranean Sea near Oran, in the Oran Province.

History

Mers-el-Kebir was captured by the Spanish under Cardinal Cisneros in 1505.
