Messina, South Africa - Definition

Messina is the northernmost town of South Africa. Located in the country's Limpopo Province (formerly Northern Province) near the Limpopo river frontier with Zimbabwe, it has a population of about 20,000. It has long been a centre of copper and iron mining.
