Michael Grant (21 November 1914 – 9 August 2004) was a trained classicist who interpreted antiquity for the average reader, a "popularizer" who described himself as "one of the very few freelances in the field of ancient history: a rare phenomenon". His translation of Tacitus' Annales was published in 1989. His autobiography, My First Eighty Years, appeared in 1994.
Michael Grant was born in London, United Kingdom, and read classics at Trinity College, Cambridge. He was awarded the OBE in 1946 and the CBE in 1958.
Michael Grant passed away on 9 August 2004 at the age of 89.
