 Michael Palmer - Definition 

Michael Palmer (born 1943 ) is a contemporary United States poet. His work, subtly surreal, often explores the nature of language and its relation to human consciousness and perception. He has received two grants from the Literature Program of the National Endowment for the Arts, and was a Guggenheim Fellow in 1989-90. His works include Blake's Newton (1972), The Circular Gates (1974), Without Music (1977), Notes for Echo Lake (1981), First Figure (1984), Sun (1988), At Passages (1996), The Lion Bridge: Poems 1972-1995 (1998), The Promises of Glass (2000), and Codes Appearing: Poems 1979-1988 (2001).
