Michael Valpy is a Canadian journalist. He is a regular columnist for the Globe and Mail newspaper.
In the Canadian federal election, 2000, Valpy ran as a New Democratic Party candidate in the Toronto riding of TrinitySpadina, against incumbent Tony Ianno. Although he had one of the party's best results in the province, he was not elected.
Valpy is married to lawyer Deborah Coyne, and is thus the stepfather of Coyne's daughter with Pierre Trudeau.
