Michael Winter is a Canadian writer. He was born in England and grew up in Newfoundland and Labrador.

He was nominated for the Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize for his debut novel, This All Happened, in 2000.

He now divides his time between St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador and Toronto, Ontario.
