Michael Zaslow - Definition and Overview

Michael Joel Zaslow (November 1, 1942 - December 6, 1998) was an American actor.

He is most remembered for his role as villain Roger Thorpe on CBS's Guiding Light, a role he played from 1971 to 1980 and from 1989 to 1997. He also played David Renaldi on ABC's One Life to Live, from 1983 to 1986.

When he was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease, he quit Guiding Light, with speculation abounding in the press that executives at Procter and Gamble had, in fact, pushed for his sacking. This became more evident, and eventually proven, when he returned to his old role at One Life to Live, which he played until shortly before his death.

Zaslow has been featured on a number of television shows and soap operas, including Law & Order, Star Trek, Search for Tomorrow, and Love is a Many Splendored Thing.

His widow and two adopted daughters founded ZazAngels, a foundation that wishes to raise funds in order to find a cure for Lou Gehrig's disease.
