Mike Berry is an English actor who's most successful time was in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was born in 1942 in Northampton, England. In the late seventies he played Mr. Peters, the father of the two chidren in the TV version of the Worzel Gummidge books. (Written by Barbara Euphan Todd.) Jon Pertwee and Una Stubbs starred in the series. He replaced Trevor Bannister in the hit comedy series Are You Being Served? in 1981, and stayed until the end of the show's run in 1985.
He had had a couple of hits in the sixties, (not to be confused with Dave Berry - a different singer). In the eighties he had a big chart success in the UK with The Sunshine Of Your Smile a romantic song written before the First World War. His most recent film work was acting in Julie and the Cadillacs (1999) and working as a filming crew member on a film called Adaptation (2002).
