Millikin University, also known as MU (official abbreviation), is a coed, independent 4-year university, with studies in Arts & Sciences, Business, Fine Arts and Nursing. Founded in 1901 by James Millikin, a prominent Decatur businessman, and affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. MU is located in Decatur, Illinois, a metropolitan area of 100,000 residents, 120 miles north of St. Louis, 180 miles south of Chicago, and 150 miles west of Indianapolis. They offer Fall and Spring Semesters, Summer Session and Intersession Immersion Courses. There are approximately 2,400 students with an average class size of 23 students.
