Mishna Berura - Definition and Overview

Mishna Berura is a work of Jewish law by Rabbi Yisrael Meir Kagan (who was also known as the Chafetz Chayim), published in the early 20th century in Lithuania. It is a gloss to the first section of the Shulkhan Arukh (Orach Chayim) and summarizes the opinions of the Acharonim (post-Medieval rabbinic authorities).
