Miyako is a language spoken by around 55783 people in the Miyako archipelagic area (including Miyako Island), south of Okinawa Island. It is a Ryukyuan language, most closely related to Yaeyama.

It can be separated into two dialect groupings, Irabu and Miyako (main island).

It is unique among Japonic languages in that it allows syllable-final consonants.
