Moate (Irish: An Móta) is a town in County Westmeath, Ireland. The town is situated near the Bellair bog and Athlone, along the N6 route between Dublin and Galway. A disused railway runs through the town, built by the Midland Great Western Railway to connect Dublin and Galway (now served by another route). Moate has a great tradition of Gaelic football and a mediocre intermediate football team.
