Mob Rules is Black Sabbath's 11th album.

Mob Rules was released in 1981 following the success of Heaven and Hell. The title track appeared in the animated motion picture Heavy Metal. The lyrics are dark and gloomy, especially in Sign of the Southern Cross and Falling off the Edge of the World.

Singer Ronnie James Dio left Black Sabbath due to creative differences during the mixing of Live Evil, taking with him Vinnie Appice.

Iommi, Butler, and Ward recorded Born again in 1983 featuring ex-Deep Purple vocalist Ian Gillan.
