Ever since the stone-age, Moelv and its surrounding districts has been home to human societies. Carvings in stone has been found, dating thousands of years back.
Moelv is Ringsaker municipalitys second largest town. After the main highway turned around Moelv in the early 1990s instead of running straight through, the town enjoys the lazy small-town contryside living. Situated at the shores of lake Mjøsa, the town is quietly bordered by green hills of wooden caracter and farmland. Home to some few thousand souls, the town consists of a few shoppingcenters, a railstation and pubs and resturants. Some small-scale production is still running, although much of the traditional industry has moved out of town, in pace of globalization.
