Mole crickets are a family (Gryllotalpidae) of crickets with mole-like forelegs. They spend nearly all their lives underground in extensive tunnel systems.
Mole crickets eat both plants and animals, with some species being mostly herbivorous and others mostly carnivorous.
Four out of the seven species present in North America are immigrant from Europe and causes considerable damage.
