Moncalieri - Definition and Overview

Moncalieri is a town of approximately 56,000 inhabitants (2001) about nine kilometers south of Turin, Italy. It is notable for its castle, built in the 12th century and enlarged in 15th century, which later became the favorite residence of Maria Clotilde and Victor Emmanuel II of Italy.
