Monona Terrace (view from the lake) Frank Lloyd Wright inspired the design of Monona Terrace, a community and convention center on the shores of Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin. It opened on July 18, 1997, almost 60 years after its initial 1938 design. While on the Monona Terrace, you can see spectacular views of Downtown Madison, and Lake Monona. You can also see the grand State Capital Building.
