Mostek - Definition and Overview |

Mostek was founded in 1969 by ex-employees of Texas Instruments. Mostek made logic, memory, and microprocessor chips. Mostek's microprocessors were second source versions of the Fairchild F8 (the Mostek 3870) and the Zilog Z80. Mostek also produced Z80 support chips.
Mostek was bought in 1980 by United Technologies Corporation, who sold it again to SGS-ATES in 1981.
Mostek is not the same company as MOS Technology.
