The Motorola MPx200 smartphone was launched in December of 2003 as a joint venture between Motorola and Microsoft. The mobile phone's technology allows users to access email and the Internet, to use MSN Messenger, and view documents in Microsoft Office formats. The only U.S. carrier of the phone is AT&T Wireless.
One common complaint of the device was that it ran Pocket PC 2002, which was outdated and buggy for use in a smartphone. This lead to the release of the Motorola MPx220, which runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Phone Edition.
