Mouwafak al-Rabii was a member of the Interim Iraq Governing Council, created following the United States's 2003 invasion of Iraq. A Shia Muslim and physician, al-Rabii was trained in Britain and resided in London for an extended period. Al-Rabii, a member of the British Royal Doctors' College, practices internal medicine and neurology, and is also known as a human rights activist.
