The Museum of Glass is a museum dedicated to glass art located in Tacoma, Washington. It is not to be confused with the various other Museums of Glass, such as the one in Corning, N.Y.
The Tacoma area was selected in part because it is the hometown of legendary glass artist Dale Chihuly. The museum opened in July of 2002 and is located near the University of Washington Tacoma in downtown Tacoma. The museum is linked to the University of Washington via a bridge dubbed "The Bridge of Glass." The bridge includes several glass-art masterpieces such as a glass tunnel, Venetian Wall and several glass columns.
The museum exhibits a conical building, which is used for glass blowing demonstrations. There are also several other outdoor exhibits including the Water Forest, reflecting pools and a waterfront promenade.
