Mustapha Mond was the fictional World Controller of Western Europe, in Aldous Huxley's dystopian novel, Brave New World.
His character is generally contrasted first to the "normal" citizens of the World State, then later to The Savage, John.
Mond is one of the World Controllers, a senior member of the Alpha caste who runs the entire society. He reveals that in his youth he was a scientist whose resarch did not conform to the party line. This incident pulled him into the ranks of World Controllers and their apprentices. The books in his office were "Ford on the shelves, and the Bible in the safe."
