Nadiad - Definition and Overview

Nadiad is a medium level city in the Indian state of Gujarat, with a population of about 0.8 million. It is in the Kheda district.

It is famous for a holy town named Dakor in its vicinity. It is also about 10 miles away from Anand (milk city), the milk capital of Gujarat and possibly of the whole of India.

Nadiad also boasts the Dharamsinh Desai Institute of Technology, which is famous in Gujarat for the quality education imparted in the fields of Engineering and Technology. It is one of the prestigious deemed university.

Famous Santaram Mandir is located in Nadiad.

Nadiad was the home town of freedomfighter, statesman and first Deputy Prime Minister of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
