Namur (Namen in Dutch) is a city and a municipality located in the Belgian province of Namur, of which it is the capital. It is also the capital of Wallonia, one of the three regions of Belgium. The actual maire of the city is Bernard Anselme. On January 1st, 2004 Namur had a total population of 106,213 (50,849 males and 55,364 females). The total area is 175.69 km² which gives a population density of 604.54 inhabitants per km².The municipality of Namur is build on 3 different regions : North : "Hesbaye", South East: "Condroz" South West : "Entre Sambre et Meuse" and center along the river "La Meuse" and her affluent "La Sambre".
The language spoken is French.
