National Right to Life Committee - Definition and Overview

The National Right to Life Committee was founded in June of 1973 in response to the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision guaranteeing the right to privacy to procure an abortion. The organization was founded in Detroit as a non-sectarian, non-partisan group, opposed to abortion, euthanasia and infanticide. The founding members included leaders in fields of science, religion, law, ethics and medicine. There are over 3,000 chapters in all 50 states and DC.
