Neiman Marcus is a chain of department stores that operates in the United States. There are 35 Neiman Marcus stores in the chain.
The first Neiman Marcus opened in Dallas, Texas in 1907, and the company is still headquartered in Dallas.
Known for its sales of women's accessories, Neiman Marcus is considered by many to be an upper-end store. That image was in part popularized by the 1980s television show The Facts of Life, where rich girl character Blair used to enjoy shopping at Neiman Marcus. It is Saks Fifth Avenue's and Bloomingdale's largest compeititor. As well, it owns the other the latter two's other compeititor Bergdorf Goodman.
It is also part of an urban legend, involving the recipe for its popular chocolate chip cookie.
Neiman Marcus has added men's accesories and electronics to their line of products. The chain has stores across the United States.
