New World Order - Definition and Overview

The term in its first known usage was not so much used in a political sense as it is commonly known now, but in a religious one. Bahá'u'lláh, the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá'í Faith used the term in His "Most Holy Book" on paragraph 181 (http://www.bahai-library.com/writings/bahaullah/aqdas/aqdas.html#K181) (work completed in 1873).

The term New World Order has several meanings:

• The political phrase New World Order.
• The conspiracy of the New World Order.
• Pat Robertson's book New World Order, published in 1991.
• The professional wrestling stable nWo.
• The phrase Novus Ordo Mundi. This phrase is often confused with Novus Ordo Seclorum, which means "New Order of the Ages," not "New World Order."
• The Fifth World.
• The computer game New World Order.
• A Convention of the Technocracy, in the Mage: The Ascension role-playing game, set in the World of Darkness.
• The music band New World Order (band).
• The collectible card game Illuminati: New World Order.

The term should not be confused with a New World warbler.
