NextBus is a technology and a company that provides real time tracking and arrival of transit vehicles. By outfitting vehicles with GPS receivers they are able to transmit realtime data on bus and train arrival times to electronic signs in stations, and to the internet.
NextBus claims this system increases transit user satisfaction. The system is used on the San Francisco Municipal Railway and several other transit systems.
