Nicodemus Tessin the Younger - Definition and Overview

Nicodemus Tessin the Younger (1654-1728), Swedish architect, son of Nicodemus Tessin the Elder.

He studied with his father who was an important Swedish baroque architect. From 1673 to 1680 he travelled in Europe and visited England, France and Italy. This Tour had a great influence on his architectural production. His most important work is the great Stockholm Palace which he started in 1697. After his father's death, he continued his work and completed the Drottningholm Palace.
