Noida - Definition and Overview

Noida is an acronym for New Okhla Industrial Development Authority. Located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, Noida was developed near Delhi in the 1970s as a modern industrial city under the UP Industrial Area Development Act, 1976.

Spread across 203.16 km², Noida is home to half a million Indians, about 50% of whom commute to Delhi daily, solely for the purpose of work.

The latitude and longitude of Noida are 28º2' N and 70º30' E respectively.
