North Asia is a subregion of Asia. It consists entirely of Siberia, which lies in the Asian part of Russia. By some definitions, not all of Siberia is part of North Asia.
[ Some Western media/journalists, esp. American media, Financial journalists and Americans (including some asian media from Far East blindly copying their format) wrongly use North Asia or North-east Asia to refer to East Asia (i.e. China, Japan, Koreas, Taiwan, Hong Kong etc). This is absolutely wrong geographically because (the real ) North Asia is Central Siberia (' 12 o'clock position ' of Asia) and NE Asia (' 1 or 2 o'clock position ' of Asia) is Eastern Siberia ( or Russian Far East). Americans/Westerners make such mistakes because many don't bother to check up the TRUE EXTEND/meaning of Asia or don't realise that Asia is in fact the name of a Continent - wrongly believe that only East Asia and South-east Asia (i.e. Far East to Westerners) PLUS South Asia (Indian Sub-continent) constitutes 'Asia'. Some American styled media therefore wrongly label East Asia (which is in fact at ' 3 o'clock position ' of Asia and lies above/north of South-east Asia that is at ' 4 or 5 o'clock postion ' of Asia) as 'their' North Asia / NE Asia and South Asia and South-east Asia as 'their' Southern Asia - totally not realising that West Asia (or Middle East), Central Asia and Siberia i.e. North Asia are all sub-continents of Asia. ]
