The North Bronx is a largely meaningless geographic designation, denoting parts of the Bronx borough of New York City not contained in the South Bronx. However, since the South Bronx traditionally refers only to the southwestern Bronx, areas in the southeastern Bronx are often erroneously labeled as the "North Bronx."
The term jumbles together highly urban sections such as Bedford Park, which don't quite qualify as the South Bronx, with coastal communities such as Throgs Neck on the complete opposite end of the Bronx.
