North Tipperary, until 2002 called Tipperary North Riding, is a local government area in Ireland, consisting of the northern part of County Tipperary. North Tipperary was established in 1898 and has had a county council ever since, and has had separate assize courts since 1838. The main town is Nenagh, other important places include Borrisoakane, Newport, Templemore, Thurles and Roscrea.
