Northumberland Park station - Definition

Northumberland Park station opened on 15th September 1840 as a Halt on the Northern & Eastern Railway.

It was originally named Marsh Lane after the country lane to Tottenham Marshes. It was later named Park Station, eventually being renamed to its current title, Northumberland Park. The operating depot of London Underground's Victoria Line was constructed alongside it during the late 1960s.

A plan was promoted by the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone to change the depot runs of Victoria Line Trains from Seven Sisters to public services, transporting passengers to the nearby Tottenham Hotspur F.C., but nothing has come of it.
