Nova Scotia Agricultural College - Definition

The Nova Scotia Agricultural College is a university college located in the village of Bible Hill, Nova Scotia, Canada - a suburb of the town of Truro.

NSAC was founded in 1905 on a 265 hectare campus along a bluff overlooking the Salmon River. As an agricultural school, NSAC is the only institution in Atlantic Canada with such a mandate and offers specialized training at the Technical, Technology, Bachelor and Masters levels. It has extensive farm and research facilities and provides joint degrees in science and engineering with Dalhousie University. In recent years, NSAC has examined the possibility of renaming the institution as the "University of Central Nova Scotia", or something similar, thus changing its focus from the university college level to primarily a university.
