The Nova Scotia Court of Appeal is the court of final appeal in the province of Nova Scotia except for rare cases that are heard by the Supreme Court of Canada. There are ten judges, two of which are supernumerary (semi-retired). Cases are heard by a panel of three judges and over the year they rule on roughly 250 cases.
