October is the tenth month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar and one of seven Gregorian months with the length of 31 days.

October begins in Libra and ends in Scorpio

In the wheel of the year October ends at or near to Bealtaine in the southern hemisphere and a few days before the midpoint between spring equinox and summer solstice. In the northern hemisphere it has a corresponding position with respect to Samhain, between autumn equinox and winter solstice.

The name is from the Latin octo for "eight". The month was the eighth month of the year,before July and August were inserted.
