Oita Trinita(大分トリニータ) is a J. League team. The team name Trinita is a combination of either the English word trinity and Oita or the Italian word trinità and expresses the will of citizen, companies, and local governments to support the team.

The team's home town is Oita, Oita as well as Beppu, Saiki and the entire Oita perfecture. Its home ground is Oita Spopark 21 also called Big Eye and practices at the adjacent football and rugby field, River Park Inukai, and Oita City Public Ground.

The team started as Oita Trinity on 1994 and advanced through Oita perfectural league, Kyushu league and finished as the runner-up at the 1996 national league to be promoted to the JFL league. On 1999, after solving the copyright problem by changing to the current name, it joined the J2 league and placed at 3rd. The team also placed at 3rd on 2000, and despite competing for the promotion till the last game, it finished at 6th on 2001. On 2002, it won the J2 league championship on 2002 and finally was promoted to the J1 league.
