Okinawa (沖縄市; -shi) is a city located on the island of Okinawa Honto in Okinawa, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 123,649 and the density of 2,523.45 persons per km². The total area is 49.00 km².

The city was founded on April 1, 1974 with the merger of Koza (formerly Goya, Okinawa, and Goeku, Okinawa prior to that) and Misato, Okinawa.
