In the United States, oldies is a common music radio format. This format includes early rock and roll or pop music from the period from 1950 to 1980. Detractors will often refer to the "Moldy Oldies," whereas proponents call them "Golden Oldies."
This overlaps slightly with the classic rock format, which concentrates on the rock music of the 1970s and also plays newer material made in the same style.
