The Olenek River or Olenyok River is a major river in northern Siberian Russia. It is 2,292 km long, of which around 1,000km is navigable. Its major tributary is the Arga-Sala River.
The river's source is on the northern Central Siberian Plateau, from where it flows north east through Olenek before emptying into the Laptev Sea at Ust'Olenek just west of the Lena River delta.
The Olenek is known for its abundant fish.
