On a Plain is an album track from Nevermind. It was one of the last songs to be recorded for the album, and is considered by many to be Nevermind's poppiest moment, placed in a rather contradictory fashion between the abrasive "Stay Away" and the dirge-like "Something In The Way". The song was released to radio and became a moderate alternative-rock hit in the summer of 1992. The MTV Unplugged version features Lori Goldston on cello.
