Onojo, Fukuoka - Definition and Overview

Onojo (大野城市; -shi) is a city located in Fukuoka, Japan.It is in effect a southern suburb of Fukuoka City,and has a border to the northwest with the Hakata Ku area of the city.It also shares borders with Dazaifu city, Kasuga city, Umi machi, Chikushino city,Nakagawa machi and Shime machi.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 92,175 and the density of 3,429.13 persons per km². The total area is 26.88 km².

The city was founded on April 1, 1972.The city flower is the kikyou or Chinese Bellflower.(Campanula)
