Sir William Owen Chadwick, OM, KBE (born 20 May 1916) is a British professor, writer and prominent theologian. His father, Sir Henry Chadwick, was also a prominent professor and writer.
Chadwick attended the Tonbridge School and St John's College, Cambridge, and entered the field of education as a fellow of Trinity Hall, Cambridge in 1947. He became Master of Selwyn College, Cambridge in 1956; two years later, he began teaching ecclesiastical history. He proceeded to teach modern history, then became Vice Chancellor of Cambridge. He was created a Knight of the British Empire in 1982 and a Member of the Order of Merit in 1983; throughout his life, he has written many books.
