Pandit Jasraj is a famous classical Indian singer, born in 1930.

His family is well known for singing in Mewati Gharana style. His father, Pandit Motiramji, passed away when Jasrajji was quite young. His brother, Pandit Maniramji, took him under his tutelage.

To supply additional means of livelihood, Panditji took Pandit as an accompanying Tabla player. But at the age of 14, unhappy with the treatment of an accompanying artist, Pandit left and vowed not to cut his hair until he had learned to sing.

He is the recipient of many awards including Padma Vibhushan.

Panditji and his wife Madhu Jasraj have a son Sharang Dev and a daughter Durga.
